Celebrities Invest in the Valley

Scottsdale and Paradise Valley have become a hotspot for celebrity homes. As the valley continues its spur in economic growth *source, more and more celebrities are calling our neighborhood home. Some of our local celebrities include: Frankie Muniz, Michael Phelps, John McCain, Kurt Warner and Bret Michaels.

 

Frankie Muniz

Former child star Frankie Muniz, known for his role as Malcolm in "Malcolm in the Middle", recently put his Scottsdale abode on the market. Located in the elegant Estancia golf community, this home has 6,200 square feet of space and includes five bedrooms and seven bathrooms. The home includes soaring ceilings, and a giant window overlooking the pool with three waterfalls that are set in the beautiful desert landscape and offers panoramic views of Pinnacle Peak. Muniz bought the home in 2009 and is asking $2.795 million for it today. This isn't his first venture in Arizona real estate. In 2014 he sold his home in the Arcadia neighborhood for $2.85 million.

Michael Phelps

Swimming legend and decorated Olympian, Michael Phelps moved to Paradise Valley in December of 2015. The house is 6,010 square feet and has five bedrooms, six-and-a-half bedrooms, and, of course, a large beautiful swimming pool. His backyard looks right at the famous landmark, Camelback mountain. The home features pre-wiring for automation via smartphone control, stone patios, and vaulted ceilings. Phelps bought the property for $2.53 million in December 2015 and continues to live there with his wife Nicole Johnson, and their baby boy, Boomer Robert Phelps. After winning 23 Olympic gold medals, Phelps has since retired and is now the Assistant Swim Coach for Arizona State University.

Bret Michaels

The lead singer for Poison fell in love with the desert as a young adult and eventually bought a home in North Scottsdale's Silverleaf neighborhood. Located in DC Ranch, this home boasts more than 10,000 square feet with six bedroom, nine bathrooms, and a five car garage. Bret customized his home with a chef's kitchen, home theater, wine cellar and multiple fireplaces. This home sits on a three acre lot with a guest house, infinity pool and offers breathtaking views of the valley. He bought the home for $10.5 million.
